Thank you to all of the following people for coming out fishing and putting up with me!  Yes we are back fishing and the fishing has been good!  The docks at The Oregon Inlet Fishing Center were damaged from the storm and will not be accessible for a another week.  Until then I am leaving out of the public boat ramp behind the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.  Been working on the vanishing pictures.  A glitch in our virus scan hid most pictures from July & August.  My computer savvy little sister taught me how to retrieve them.  Thanks Missy!  Made it up to 7/11(Scroll Down).  Will get the rest up shortly!!!  9/28/11 PM-Mary(PHOTO) & Jay(PHOTO), of the McCain party, from Aquia Creek, Virginia-45 Bluefish up to 1&1/2 lbs., 19 Speckled Trout up to 17 inches(6 keepers)(PHOTO), afternoon Oregon Inlet.  Great fishing today for a couple of longtime customers.  We started out casting to Bluefish with double rigs under the birds.  They were not big, but it was two at a time just about every cast.  Once Jay & Mary had a limit, we moved onto casting for Speckled Trout.  That started slowly, but as the afternoon progressed we ended up with a good catch(PHOTO) of them as well.  As always, it was my pleasure.  Thanks for the T-Shirt and the Red-Hots!  9/26/11 PM-Greg, Keith, & Sully, of the Protiva/Davis party, from VIENNA, Virginia-16 Speckled Trout up to 18 inches(4 keepers), one 3 lb. Bluefish(PHOTO), afternoon Oregon Inlet  We finally got enough of break in the weather(sort of) to give it a try.  After watching some weather hold us back from where we wanted to go and only catching a couple of fish where we were, things completely cleared up.  We made the move and the Speks were biting when we got there.  Wish we could have arrived earlier in the tide as it didn't last long.  The guys(PHOTO) took care of business while they were biting.  Thanks guys for the sweet Captain's Hat.  9/23/11 PM-Brad Jones(PHOTO), of Chesterfield, Virginia-13 Speckled Trout up to 18 inches(2 keepers), afternoon Oregon Inlet.  I was stewing on the fact that I wasn't working this morning, when an old neighbor called.   Brad used to mate on offshore boats and years ago we used to fish at night together on the original Beach Bum.  Brad was smart.  He got a real job.  Anyway, it sounded like there was a pretty decent bite this morning, but reports when we left the dock were that it had slowed down.  The reports were right, but we moved around enough times to scrap out a catch.  Great seeing you again Brad!  9/23/11 AM-No trip this morning.  Steve from yesterday was nice enough to switch days and cover for the deadbeat that canceled on me last minute Wednesday night for Thursday morning.  I was hoping to fill the spot so I would not be out a half days pay.  It didn't work out.  Anyway, congratulations are in order for Tom Timmerman, of Charlottesville, Virginia for being the first person to make THE HALL OF SHAME in almost five years.  I initially added the Hall of Shame impulsively, with no plans for it to be a permanent section of the web site.  I left it up as it turned out to be a great tool as a deterrent to getting stood up at the dock.  Tom slipped through the cracks and made it.  Tom booked a trip on Monday evening for Thursday morning.  My wife booked the trip, blocked the morning off on the calendar and I blocked the morning off on the schedule section of the web site.  Tom left me a voice mail at 5:24 PM Wednesday evening to cancel.  Tom based the cancellation on a questionable weather forecast(weather & fishing were great Thursday morning), the fact that I had booked a second trip(?We run two trips a day all the time?), and that "THE ENTHUSIASM LEVEL FOR FISHING HAS DROPPED" from the time he booked the trip!  I left a polite return voice mail urging a conversation about the cancellation.  This resulted in an extremely rude return voice mail.  Tom questioned the nerve that I must have for communicating our cancellation policy of keeping $175 for last minute cancellations.  Guess who the big loser was on this one.  We forgot to get a deposit from Tom.  Anyway, as said in the past.  This is my job, it is not a hobby.  I cannot afford to set aside a half day trip for someone that bases the actual probability of showing up and fulfilling their obligation, on "THE ENTHUSIASM LEVEL" of the party the night before the trip.  Are you kidding me?!?!  100% of my family's income depends on you showing up when you say you are.  There are no sick days, no 401K's, no vacation days in my business.  It is all on me right now.  My wife is currently working for forty hours a week for free(doing her teaching internship) through December.  There was also a thing called a Hurricane that rolled through town a few weeks ago.  We lost our docks along with a weeks worth of work.  Since the storm, I have thrown $1,512 on a credit card to fix the crank shaft on the Blue boat, $1,100 on the card to fix the transmission in my wife's van, $180 to temporarily fix(instead of the needed $700) the lower unit of the Yellow boat, and I just got news the same night of the cancellation that I need a $1,700 part to resurrect a dead ice machine.  Under these circumstances, I really do not have patience for people like Tom.  Any "ENTHUSIASM LEVEL FOR FISHING HAS DROPPED" people need not apply here.  Good luck Tom in the future booking fishing trips with your policy.  As with the few others that have made the Hall of Shame, Tom, I will gladly remove your name if you do the right thing.  9/22/11 PM-Jim & Brent, of the Brewer party, from V.A./N.C.-10 Speckled Trout up to 16 inches(2 keepers), 3 Flounder up to 14&3/4 inches, one Bluefish, afternoon Oregon Inlet.  We started off at the new Flounder hole where we had a good bite on Tuesday.  We landed a few immediately, then that was it.  We switched to Trout fishing which was not as good as it was in the morning.  We really had to work for it.  Jim & Brent(PHOTO) scrapped out a catch.  Great seeing you guys again.  Thanks for the gift certificate!  9/22/11 AM-Steve Haynes(PHOTO), from Fayetteville, N.C.-18 Speckled Trout up to 18 inches(4 keepers), one Spot, morning Oregon Inlet.  Things started slow, but as the morning progressed, the fishing got better and better.  Lots of "just short" Trout, but good fishing, casting artificials.  This could have been you Tom Timmerman.  Thanks Steve(PHOTO) for switching days and your service to the country!  9/20/11 AM-Melissa, "T(PHOTO)" & Curtis(PHOTO), of the Logan party from Troutville, Virginia-12 Flounder up to 16&1/2 inches(one keeper), 8 Bluefish up to 3 lbs., one 2 lb. Croaker, one 13 inch Speckled Trout, morning Oregon Inlet.  Early on Trout fishing didn't work out for us.  And, Drum fishing didn't work out for us.  But, Melissa did catch a giant Lizardfish(PHOTO)!  So, we decided to try a new spot(created by the Hurrricane) that looked fishy.  First line out we missed a good bite.  For the next hour we got a bite nearly every cast on a combination of live baits and casting grubs(PHOTO) and double rigs.  Most bites were Flounder that were a 1/2 inch short(PHOTO), but there were some Bluefish bites and Melissa's(PHOTO) stud Croaker as well.   "T" landed a good one(PHOTO) for dinner.  We will be fishing here again.  We finished the day casting to Blues.  Great seeing you guys!  9/19/11 AM-Chris & Steve, of the Walters party, from Pennsylvania-one 26&1/2 inch Red Drum, morning Oregon Inlet.  Chris & Steve got blown out today for an offshore trip and wanted to wet a line.  Conditions for most species were not too good considering it had blown for three days.  But, normally this time of the year the Drum fishing is good before/after/during a blow.  First place we tried, we had almost instant success(PHOTO).  Where have you been(PHOTO)?  We chased the second bite the rest of the morning.  Great effort by two true fishermen.  Hopefully we will start to see more and more of these perfect sized fish any day now.  9/15/11 AM-Kathy(PHOTO) & Greg(PHOTO) Terry, from Virginia-40 Bluefish up to 2 lbs., 3 keeper Speckled Trout up to 2&1/2 lbs.(PHOTO), afternoon Oregon Inlet.  We started where we had our Trout bites yesterday afternoon and they were there again.  Briefly.  The ones we got to the boat were very healthy.  We had one roll off the hook at the net that looked to be in the 5 lb. range.  Just need to figure out where these fish go when they leave this spot.  I will work on that.  We moved to another trout hole, struck out then set out to cast for Blues.  The birds gave them away.  Kathy and Greg wore them out casting double rigs(PHOTO).  It was hard to keep up with them.  Great weeing you guys again.  Congrats on the new munchkin.   9/15/11 AM-Patti(PHOTO), Emily(PHOTO), Nate, & John(PHOTO), of the Jones party, from N.C./C.O.-75 Bluefish up to Nates's 3 lber.(PHOTO), morning Oregon Inlet.  Awesome light tackle casting action under the birds again this morning.  It was non-stop.  We stayed with the Blues for a couple of hours until they simmered down.  Then we drifted some live baits where we caught our Flounder yesterday morning.  Dirty water and no bites there.  So, we moved to the bridge where we had no luck with Flounder, but the Blues fired back up again.  We started with live and cut bait, then the birds got going again so we switched back to casting and landed them two at a time(PHOTO).  Congrats Emily & Nate on the engagement!  9/14/11 PM-Cheryl(PHOTO), Barb(PHOTO), Brandon, & Nathan(PHOTO), of the Mundis party, from Delta, Pennsylvania-80 Bluefish up to 2 lbs.(PHOTO), one 2 lb. Speckled Trout, afternoon Oregon Inlet.  We tried a new spot for Trout on the way to the inlet.  After anchoring down, I instructed everyone to cast to where I thought they would be.  Cheryl(PHOTO) casted the other way and hooked a nice one.  Immediately Cheryl had a lot of friends casting the other way.  We hooked 5 or 6 more casting the other way and then they were gone.  All fish were extremely healthy, but every one pulled off.  A couple right at the net that had me drooling.  Mental note-try this hole tomorrow on the same tide and cast to Cheryl's spot.  We moved to the bridge where there were a few birds wheeling around and tried some live & cut baits.  The Blues were there again gulping baits down as soon as they hit the bottom.  30 foot of water, Oregon Inlet currrent and trout rods-Good stuff.  It just kept getting better as the tide moved faster.  Next thing you know the whole area west of the bridge blew up with birds and fish busting water up top.  We switched to casting double rigs and the crew clobbered them as we had the entire school all to ourselves.  It reminded me of the great fishing we had back in May.  9/14/11 AM-Colin, Mark, Pete, & Chris(PHOTO), of the Burr party, from VIENNA, Virginia-30 Bluefish up to 2 lbs.(PHOTO), 2 throwback Flounder, one throwback Cobia, morning Oregon Inlet.  We decided to start the morning with a pass looking for Cobia.  We noticed one smaller one as soon as we got outside that we left alone as we were looking for dinner.  We struck out on dinner, so we returned and Pete(PHOTO) caught-and-released unharmed the small one.  From there we had to try for Flounder after yesterday mornings success.  They let us down, but Colin(PHOTO) did land a monster Lizardfish!  After several not so successful drifts we moved to the inlet where we finished strong at the bridge fishing the shade line.  Colin, who was on fire, got everyone up to speed and the guys hammered the Blues on a combination of cut, live bait, & casting double rigs.  Chris-great seeing you again.  1981 Vienna Cubs Rule!  9/13/11 AM.-Scott, Tex, & "Jerky" Bill Ruggiero(PHOTO), from Richmond, Virginia-25 Bluefish up to 2 lbs., 11 Flounder up to 18 inches(3 keepers), morning Oregon Inlet.  We started the morning bombing out at some Trout holes.  This did not faze the Ruggiero's as they are used to slow fishing with me.  I have given them two crapper fishing trips in a row.  Water conditions were as clear as I had seen since the storm, so we decided to get some bait in the cast net and try for Flounder.  Wish we had started with this as we immediately landed a keeper on our first drop.  We had several bites over a short period of time and landed two more nice ones, including the beefy 18 incher(PHOTO).  The tide died and killed our bite so we moved to where we caught our fish yesterday morning.  They were there again.  The "Jerky" Crew landed Blues on live & cut baits, then landed them casting double rigs.  I may have finally redeemed myself.  Thanks guys for the third chance!  9/12/11 AM.-Lee, Jerry, Jeff, & Joe, of the Blakaitis party, from N.J./OBX-18 Bluefish up to 1&1/2 lbs.(PHOTO), one throwback Flounder, one Spot, morning Oregon Inlet.  Based on some of last weeks catches, we had to try for Trout to start things off.  One place after another we found nothing.  Same deal with live baits fishing for Flounder.  We were going down in flames.  It was getting ugly.  Joe suggested we try the bridge.  What did we have to lose.  We decided to make a final pass drifting between the pilings.  Eveyone on the boat got a bite and came up with half a bait.  We circled around and tied up to see if we could sit on them.  Finally a few Blues started coming over the side.  We switched to cut bait and they really started coming over until the tide died.  Great job by the crew!  Thanks for your patience!  9/9/11 A.M.-13 Speckled Trout up to 2&1/2 lbs.(8 keepers)(PHOTO), one Bluefish, morning Oregon Inlet  9/7/11 P.M.-2 Speckled Trout up to 15 inches(one keeper), slow afternoon Oregon Inlet9/6/11-3 Speckled Trout up to 3&1/2 lbs.(2 keepers), slow 3/4 Day Oregon Inlet9/4/11 P.M.-25 Speckled Trout up to 18 inches(17 keepers)(PHOTO), one throwback Flounder, afternoon Oregon Inlet.  9/4/11 A.M.-30 Bluefish up to 2 lbs., 2 Speckled Trout up to 16 inches(one keeper), one 16&1/2 inch Flounder, morning Oregon Inlet.  9/3/11 P.M.-25 Bluefish up to 3 lbs., 9 Speckled Trout up to 18 inches(one keeper), one 14&3/4 inch Flounder, afternoon Oregon Inlet.  9/1/11 A.M.-4 Bluefish, 2 Speckled Trout up to 16 inches(one keeper), morning Oregon Inlet.  8/31/11 A.M.-5 Red Drum up to 17 inches, one Flounder, morning Oregon Inlet.  8/25/11 A.M.-2 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., one 25 lb. Sharp Nosed Sharks, slow afternoon Oregon Inlet/Atlantic Ocean.  We waited on the rain to stop and headed with high hopes right back to where we left of this morning.  What a difference a couple hours makes.  It was a dead hole.  Craig(PHOTO) saved the day and landed one so we could go in with our pride.  7/9/11 A.M. -Jim, Joe, Todd, & J.P., of the Williamson party, from Charlottesville, Virginia-4 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., one 17 lb. Rockfish(Striped Bass), morning Oregon Inlet/Atlantic Ocean.  Ugly conditions this morning.  Rain on the way & an engine running very poorly due to Ethenol(Thanks Congress).  These guys wanted to go bad.  Everyone was able to catch a fish and J.P. got a whopper(PHOTO) before the flood gates opened on us.  Thanks guys for the huge effort.  7/8/11 A.M. -Greg Keefer, Eric Weeks, & Dan Rahea-30 assorted Croaker & Spot, one throwback FlounderA big game hunt with old friends from school was planned for today.  Too much wind & too many thunderstorms to go for it.  We slipped out to a bait hole for an hour & caught bait for tomorrow.  Thanks guys for the cold beer and chicken wings last night!  7/7/11 P.M. -Sam, Riley, Ricky, & Charlie, of the Roy party, from Connecticut- Approximately 20 Sharp Nosed Sharks(PHOTO) up to 10 lbs., afternoon Atlantic Ocean.  Talked the guys into Shark fishing on the chum bag after what we did this morning.  Halfway through the afternoon it was looking like a bad call.  Then chaos(PHOTO) broke out and they were everywhere.  You could not keep a bait in the water.  Awesome fishing!  7/7/11 AM-Al Bill, & Steve, of the Medei party(PHOTO), from Spotsylvania, Virginia-6 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., one 8 lb. Mahi-Mahi(Dolphin), morning Atlantic Ocean.  Good Shark fishing with a bonus Mahi in the chum slick this morning.  7/6/11 -Marty(PHOTO) & Jordan(PHOTO) Eaton, of Amissville, Virginia-3 Spinner Sharks(PHOTO) up to 30 lbs., 2 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., one approximately 100 lb. Black Tip Shark(PHOTO), one 35 lb. Hammer Head Shark, Full Day Atlantic Ocean.  The Shark Hunters Return!  I do not know how these two do it, but every year they catch a big Shark.  We started a little slow today, but once we got in the right spot(a long way from the inlet) we had lots of bites.  Mostly of the larger variety(PHOTO).  After a Sharp Nose, the Spinners came into our slick.  Things can get crazy with them.  When they hit, the drag starts singing, and they will air it out.  It is not always easy to keep them on, but it is fun while it lasts.  Marty and Jordan got a few to the boat(PHOTO) and several eventually bit us off.  Then, here we go again, for the 2nd year and a row, a big Hammer Head that the guys both hooked(PHOTO)!?!?  After another Sharp Nose, just as we were getting ready to go, Jordan hooked up.  This one will go down as the Eaton's largest Shark to date and one of the greatest battles ever on my boat.  Jordan battled it.  Marty battled it.  Then Jordan. Then Marty.  Then Jordan.  Then all hell broke loose when the time came to get it on the boat.  This Black Tip was easily over 100 lbs(PHOTO).  I have a gaff that it bent like was made of rubber to prove it.  Next time this is attempted, there will be ammunition.  Marty & Jordan-You did it again, we will never forget this one!  7/5/11 -Nick(PHOTO) & Steve Render, along with Mason Scoville, of Centreville, Virginia-8 Bluefish, 6 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., 5 Amberjack up to 37 lbs., one lb. Mahi-Mahi(Dolphin)(PHOTO), Full Day Atlantic Ocean.  These guys(PHOTO) always get them.  First, they casted to the Blues, then they pulled on the Jacks(PHOTO), last we finished with a chum bag for the Sharks.  They caught them at every stop.  Nick & Mason are two of the fish catching-est yong men that have ever stepped on the boat.  Watch out guys.  Nick's dad Steve(PHOTO), who used to just come along for the ride, is becoming quite the angler.  Two trips in a row, he has just about gone fish for fish with the young guns.  Nice fish Mason(PHOTO)7/4/11 -Took Henry, my old roomate from school John Snearer and his 8 Year Old son Charlie out to catch bait for tomorrow.-30 Croaker, mid-day kids trip, Oregon Inlet.  Charlie, John & Henry took care of business!  John missed his first one(PHOTO).  Then he landed his first fish ever(PHOTO)!  Charlie was on fire.  He landed several doubles(PHOTO) and a Gray Trout(PHOTO).  7/3/11 -Tucker, Gus, Curg, & Dan, of the Lines/Elbon party(PHOTO), from Centreville, Virginia-9 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., one 35 lb. Hammer Head Shark(PHOTO), Full Day Atlantic Ocean.  It took us a while to get to where they were biting.  But, once there, the guys took care of business.  Lot's of Shark bites including Curg's big one(PHOTO) that did not get away.  7/2/11-Steve & Patti Heacock(PHOTO), from Maryland-7 Mahi-Mahi(Dolphin) up to 10 lbs.(PHOTO), 6 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs., Full Day Atlantic Ocean.  It took us a while to get in the right spot, but once we did Steve & Patti(PHOTO) did their thing.  7/1/11 P.M.-Curtis, Ronald, & Russ, of the Lemon party, from Charleston, West-By-God Virginia-9 Mahi-Mahi(Dolphin)(PHOTO) up to 11 lbs., afternoon Atlantic Ocean.  Great fishing this afternoon.  It all started when Curtis(PHOTO) hooked the big one on a Trout rod.  7/1/11 A.M.-Kurt, Mike, Jordan, & Kade, of the Kuehl party, from Wisconson-2 Sharp Nosed Sharks up to 10 lbs.(PHOTO), morning Atlantic Ocean.  Only a couple of bites all morning.  Luckily the guys got them.  6/25/11 -Randy, Scott, 13 Year Old-Josh, & Jamie, of the Fitzgerald party, from Clarksville, Virginia-3 Spinner Sharks up to 30 lbs., one 30 lb. Black Tip Shark(PHOTO), one Bluefish, Full Day Atlantic Ocean.  It didn't come easy today(PHOTO), but these guys worked their butts off for a few big Sharks(PHOTO).  Have you ever seen a more determined young man than Josh(PHOTO)?  I do not think so!   A big Thank You to those of you that have paid above and beyond the call of duty!  It really helps to keep the boat from sinking.

Aboard
THE BEACH BUM I prefer to have you casting and jigging bucktails, Swim Baits, FIN-S', spoons, plugs, or live baiting over trolling.  If we can catch them casting or on live bait that is how we will do it unless you prefer trolling.  Bear in mind, some days we  have to suck it up and troll.  We land our fish on the lightest tackle that we can get away with.  Aboard THE BEACH BUM there is no mate.  YOU GET TO SET THE HOOK ON YOUR FISH instead of a mate setting the hook and handing you the rod.  Remember, you can also check the LATEST RESULTS section of the web page to see how we have done every trip we make aboard THE BEACH BUM.

Rockfish did not show up on the shoals(zero) and at the bridge(a few were caught) at Oregon Inlet in 2010.  Hopefully this was a fluke and is not going to be a trend.  I will have one boat docked at Oregon Inlet in November either way.  Once the big fish show up, I absolutely will be fishing at Oregon Inlet for the big ones if they show up.  I am open for all loacations(Oregon Inlet/Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Croatan, Albemarle, & Currituck Sounds) for all of November.  Remember, every year is different and things can change.  The bottom line is that I will be fully prepared this year to get you wherever the fish are!  It takes an hour & a half to an hour & 45 minutes in a heated automobile from O.B.X. to The Bay Bridge.  Species-Big Rockfish(Striped Bass)(in ocean), school sized Rockfish(Striped Bass)(in sound), Redfish(Red Drum)(possibly), Tautog, Speckled & Gray Trout(Weakfish)(possibly), Bluefish(possibly), Flounder(possibly)(PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)

Winter Fishing Trips 2011/2012(December-Early March)-I am available to fish out of Oregon Inlet or Rudee Inlet until the fish are gone.  It does not matter to me which location we leave out of.  It just doesn't matter!!!  Weekdays are much less crowded than the weekends.  If you can make it during the week there is a lot less pressure on the fish which greatly increases your chances at catching them jigging.  Bring your rubber boots, raingear, a Big cooler, and a strong mental fortitude for the bumpy days.  The decision to fish a scheduled winter-time trip will be made the day(morning) before the trip, or if absolutely necessary, the night before the day before the trip.  Please do not call me three, four, five days, or a week before a scheduled trip and ask me to make an impossible decision.  I am not a weatherman, I am a fisherman.  Thank you!

DECEMBER(2011)-I am currently OPEN on 12/1, 12/2, 12/3, 12/4, 12/5, 12/6, 12/7, 12/8, 12/9, 12/10, 12/11, 12/12, 12/13, 12/14, 12/15, 12/16, 12/17, 12/18, 12/19, 12/20, 12/21, 12/22, 12/23, 12/26, 12/27, 12/28, 12/29, 12/30, 12/31I will be scheduling 1/2 day, 3/4 day, or All day trips from December 1st-December 20th out of Oregon Inlet.  I will only be scheduling All day trips from December 15th-December 31st out of Oregon Inlet/Rudee Inlet(Virginia Beach).  I will have a boat available for fishing the Atlantic Ocean waters near Virginia Beach & the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel out of Lynnhaven/Rudee Inlet, Virginia Beach area throughout December.  We had great Rockfish(Striped Bass) fishing in the ocean waters near Virginia Beach the past two Decembers.  For you meathogs, there are a lot of fish landed in December in legal(keeper) waters.  We generally have good Rockfish(Striped Bass) fishing around theBridge/Tunnel the days that we fish there in December.  Plenty of fish between 18 inches and 20 lbs. at the bridge.  You can keep them at the bridge at 18 inches through the end of the month.  We generally catch them casting swim baits and on eels at the bridge.  We catch the fish in ocean casting swim baits or trolling bucktails or plugs.  Either way, in December you have the option of fishing either location.  But, we cannot leave the bridge and enter the ocean with fish under 28 inches.  There is the possibility of big(over 40 lbs.) Rockfish around the shoals and bridge at Oregon Inlet for the first two weeks of December.  I absolutely will be fishing at Oregon Inlet for them in December.  I am open for either loacation for all of December.  I will only be booking full day trips for the Ocean fish out of Virginia Beach or at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.  Out of Oregon Inlet I will be running 1/2, 3/4, or Full Day trips.  Remember, every year is different and things can change.  It is a possibility that the OBX Rockfish(Striped Bass) Sound fishery could take off again.  There have been a lot of fish on the west ends our sounds the last couple of years.  If that is the case, I will pull the boat out of Oregon Inlet, put it on the trailer and will fish the OBX sounds.  The bottom line is that I will be fully prepared this year to get you wherever the fish are!  It takes an hour & a half to an hour & 45 minutes in a heated automobile from O.B.X. to The Bay Bridge.  For those of you that opt for Virginia Beach and need a room:  Days Inn(800)843-7096-$29.95(Sunday-Thursday), $34.95(Friday & Saturday).  Best Western(800)344-3342-$41.00 Seven days a week.  The rooms at both places have two double beds.  The Best Western has been recently remodeled.  Species-Big Rockfish(Striped Bass) in ocean, school sized Rockfish(Striped Bass) in sound, Big Bluefish(possibly in ocean).  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)

For those of you that went on one of  the early years crabbing trips and enjoyed them, you have that option again!  A good friend of mine, Chad Hemelright is now running the same type of trips.  The crab pots are allready in the water with bait in them.  You get to go out on a real crab boat, pull the pots like a crabber, and bring the freshest crabs home for dinner.  Chad will do the dirty work(pulling & rebaiting the pots) if you want him to, or you can do it.  Kids love these trips!  Come to think of it, I can't ever remember a crabbing trip that I ran with kids where I ever had to pull or rebait more than one pot.  Once the first crab pot came over the side and was rebaited, the kids couldn't wait to pull and rebait the next one.  Chad's boat is docked in Kitty Hawk, which is a short drive for those of you staying on the northern beaches.  Chad can be reached at (252) 475-0090 or (252) 261-2551.
